In case you missed it, this Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown 1000 special kicked off with an incredible, nostalgic video package taking a look back at some of the most memorable moments in the history of the blue brand. Check it out above.
While a ton of pro wrestling’s past legends made appearances in Washington D.C. for the event, including The Undertaker, Edge, Booker T and an the entire Evolution faction back together again, one star that was noticeably absent from the celebration was 16-time world champion John Cena.

Obviously Cena’s been a bit more absent than usual in 2018, filming multiple movies including a recent three-month stay in China, but many assumed he would make an appearance on Smackdown 1,000 given that he debuted on the blue brand. His first WWE Championship win over JBL at WrestleMania is one of the most iconic victories in the history of the Smackdown locker room.
Cena did get on the show, albeit not live. Instead he sent in a pre-recorded video that aired during the event, recapping some of his favorite moments from Smackdown’s history. Check it out below.
