Following last Saturday night’s UFC 225 PPV, UFC President Dana White was interviewed during a post-fight show. Dana White said that he doesn’t believe CM Punk deserves a third chance to earn his first MMA victory, but he also isn’t sold on Mike Jackson being someone who is Octagon-worthy.
Last Saturday night at UFC 225, CM Punk lost via Unanimous Decision to Mike Jackson. Like Punk, Jackson was also just making his second appearance in MMA, with both coming under the UFC’s direction. While Jackson was victorious, he left White less-than-impressed.
Below is what Dana White said during the post-fight show:
“Punk got clipped a lot in that fight.” “It looked like he got hurt bad a couple times.” “Mike Jackson, I’m not happy with. He was acting like a goofball.” “I don’t know what Mike Jackson did before we picked him up, but he should go back to doing it. He’s 0-2 in my mind.”
Sam Alvey, who has made several appearances for the UFC over the years, believes that everyone needs to give CM Punk credit for what he did. The former WWE superstar has lost both of his Octagon fights, including a decision defeat to Mike Jackson this past Saturday night at UFC 225. Despite that, Alvey feels that the effort Punk put in deserves applause, as seen below:
I see a lot of hate towards @CMPunk and i think y’all should knock it off. He’s worked his ass off to become someone that people want to see compete. He was offered the opportunity and who wouldn’t have said yes. He trained, he bled, and he lost. It happens, no need for the hate
