A crushing defeat to Manchester United for Jose Mourinho halted his dream start to life at Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s never fun losing, especially against your former club, but it will be a fantastic reality check for the Portuguese and his new players.
With a match against Burnley up next on Saturday – live on talkSPORT 2 – it may be time for Mourinho to do some tinkering to his team.
He’s kept things fairly similar since replacing Mauricio Pochettino but a dismal start to the game at Old Trafford and players getting back to fitness may well allow him to make necessary alterations at the club’s huge new stadium, which will host the Clarets for the first time.
Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, and Lucas Moura are among the players who could be inline for some rotation as the former Real Madrid manager tries to find out his best XI.
So who might be handed a chance in N17 when the whistle blows?
With Mourinho favouring one attacking full-back and one defensive, he may opt for a new angle of attack.
Aurier has played all the games under him so far but he could choose to pick Argentine starlet Juan Foyth as a defensive right-back, this would allow wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon to take up an offensive position on the left of defence.
In possession, Foyth would drop into a back-three, while out of it he would drift wide to contend with Dwight McNeil.
Eric Dier could also return after a rest against the Red Devils, offering a shield in front of the backline.
The main alteration in midfield, though, would be the return of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso to the starting XI.
With Dier behind them they can both operate in dynamic box-to-box roles, offering creativity for the front-three and counter-pressing, something which has been missing in recent weeks
Ahead, in a slight alteration, Heung-Min Son and the in-form Dele Alli could play in roles just wide of Harry Kane who has been dropping deeper of late.
