WWE Raw comes to you from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL (which happens to be the hometown of a certain People’s Champion), and it is the first Raw of the New Year! This promises to be a BIG show as we are going to see the return of The Beast, WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, and his advocate, Paul Heyman, are sure to address Brock’s opponents for The Royal Rumble, Braun Strowman and Kane.
Also, we are going to see two titles on the line tonight. First, Cedric Alexander is going to take advantage of his second chance when he takes on WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo Amore. Alexander fought his way through a fatal 4-way to advance to face Zo-Train member Drew Gulak in order for a shot to face off against the Cruiserweight Champion and was successful. Now, after weeks of anticipation and verbal sparring, Cedric gets his opportunity against The Realest Champ In The Room for the Cruiserweight Championship.
Also, last week, we saw a title match that ended in the disqualification of Roman Reigns, after Reigns went after Samoa Joe in revenge for taking out his fellow Shield brother, Dean Ambrose. In response, Reigns was fined and Kurt Angle announced that there would be a rematch for Reigns’ Intercontinental Championship, against Samoa Joe. However, if Reigns gets himself disqualified, the title will change hands and go to the Samoan Submission Machine. Can Reigns control himself, and what tricks will Joe have up his sleeve to make sure the gold goes home with him?
Lastly, last week’s show ended in a shocking turn of events, as Jason Jordan got his Christmas present, when he teamed up with Seth Rollins to face off against Sheamus & Cesaro and subsequently defeat them to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships! How will Rollins & Jordan coexist, and what response does “The Bar” have to try to reclaim their titles?

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Backstage we see Alexa Bliss with Kurt Angle, and she asks him what she was thinking, rewarding Asuka with a match against her after attacking her last week. Kurt says that if she has a problem with it, settle it with Asuka later tonight. And she’s lucky because this isn’t a championship match…yet. Kurt’s music hits, and he says he has to go.
IN-RING SEGMENT
Kurt welcomes the crowd to Monday Night Raw. He says that 2017 was one of the best years of his career and he was able to become the Raw General Manager. While 2017 was great, 2018 will be even better. In 3 weeks, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw, and shortly after there will be the Royal Rumble Pay Per View. John Cena has announced his entry into the MEN’S Royal Rumble match, and he notes that he specifically said MEN. Because there will also be a Women’s Royal Rumble Match. He says that he discussed with Stephanie, and he said that they decided that what is good for the men, is good for the women! The women will have a 30-women Royal Rumble match!
Just then, Sheamus & Cesaro come out, and they start to give Kurt a hard time for making that match last week that caused them to lose their Raw Tag Team Championship. Cesaro says that it was clear favoritism, and not just because of what he did, making the match, but also what he did after the match. A clip is shown, which is a WWE.com exclusive, where Kurt is shown embracing his son, Jason Jordan after winning the Raw Tag Team Championship.
Sheamus says that it makes him sick to his stomach and that it’s clear favoritism. Cesaro says that they want their rematch, and they want it tonight. Kurt Angle says that Cesaro & Sheamus will get their rematch…when he says so.
Just then, Jason Jordan makes his way to the ring and he tells Cesaro that if he doesn’t deserve a chance at the Tag Team Championship, then what is around his waist? He says that Kurt doesn’t know what favoritism is, and that he earned his opportunity. And he says that if Cesaro doesn’t stop running his mouth, he will give him another reason to go visit the dentist. Kurt Angle holds the men back and says that these two will settle their differences in the ring, RIGHT NOW!
Just then, Seth Rollins’ music hits and he comes out with a mic. He says that while he and Jordan are tag team champions, he needs to learn more about being a partner. He says that this white pasty fellow next to Cesaro is out there, and he didn’t even notice because he came out here to puff his chest. He says not to worry, because he will be in Jordan’s corner to protect his investment. But the way he sees it, he is only out there to watch him lose.
