Despite Raw ratings being up following Clash of Champions, Tuesday night’s SmackDown on USA Network averaged 2.064 million viewers, basically even with last week. The show was up 3,000 viewers from last Tuesday.
With no major competition on cable except for the usual news shows on CNN and FOX News, SmackDown finished seventh for the night in total cable TV viewers. It did top the 18-49 demo with a 0.63 rating, 35 percent higher than second place Real Housewives of the OC. SmackDown also topped all network TV shows in that demo for the night except Bachelor in Paradise and America’s Got Talent.
SmackDown retained 91 percent of the Raw viewership from the previous night, a percentage that will likely go down with most major networks airing original programming starting next week.
SmackDown was down 9.5 percent year-over-year. An interesting comparison to that would be the fact that “Mayans” on AMC topped the 18-49 demo one year ago Tuesday with a 0.79 rating and 2.1 million viewers. This week, “Mayans” was down to 0.44 and 1.118 million viewers, drops of 44 percent and 47 percent respectively.
