German fashion e-tail giant Zalando has launched its renewed fashion mobile
app for Android and iOS, designed to offer consumers a “frictionless,
convenient and mobile appropriate” experience.
“At Zalando, we care about every customer touchpoint. We know mobile
requires a unique approach when it comes to customer experience,” commented
Nuzhat Naweed, Head of Mobile Product and Engineering at Zalando.
“Customers interact with apps in micro-moments and our new app lends itself
beautifully to this.”
The revamped app offer consumers larger fashion images to browse through in
order to ensure they have full opportunity to study the products they are
searching for up close, as well as a swipe feature to make it easier to
search through catalogue items. The app design also aligns with Zalando’s
presence on its mobile site as well as its desktop site. However, the
renewed app also offers mobile-only content such as editorial features,
videos and scrollable brand lookbooks.
“The update focuses around two things; a great shopping experience and
quality editorial content showcasing brands and our in-house fashion
competence,” added Naweed. “We want our customers to be inspired and
discover all that Zalando has to offer and immerse themselves in the
content that has been created solely for the app.”
