BATAVIA, IL — Top elected seats in Geneva could shuffle come April, as the terms for mayor and 10 alderperson positions are up for election.
The mayoral role as well as one alderperson seat in Wards 1, 2, 5 and 6 and two seats in Wards 3, 4 and 7 will be up for election April 1, 2025. All positions are four-year terms except one seat in Ward 3, 4 and 7, which are unexpired two-year terms.

Current elected officials whose terms are coming to an end include Ward 1 Alderperson Jennifer Baerren, Ward 2 Alderperson Leah Leman, Ward 3 Alderperson George Ajazi, Ward 4 Alderpersons Dustin Pieper and Tony Malay, Ward 5 Alderperson Mark Uher, Ward 6 Alderperson Nicholas Cerone, and Ward 7 Alderpersons Robin Barraza and Sarah Vogelsinger.
The current elected officials will remain in their roles until their terms end April 20, 2025.

After circulating their petitions for three months, candidates running for office began filing their petitions at 9 a.m. Nov. 12 for the upcoming election. The filing period in Geneva ended at 5 p.m. Monday.
