AEW’s Bryan Danielson made a surprise appearance via video at NJPW Dominion, issuing a challenge to Kazuchika Okada.
After Shota Umino, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli failed to win the NEVER Six-Man Tag Team titles from Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Tomohiro Ishii, Moxley introduced a video by Danielson, where he said for the last ten years he’s heard about how great Okada was, and how he is considered the best wrestler of this generation. Danielson said that Okada was good, but he was the litmus test of great. Danielson finished the promo by saying Okada may be the rainmaker, but when he steps into the ring with him, Okada is going to be in the desert, and there won’t be any rain.
After the video aired, Okada said he would face Danielson, and teased it may happen at Forbidden Door on June 25 in Toronto.

Danielson originally was set to challenge Zack Sabre Jr. at last year’s Forbidden Door. However, due to injuries sustained at AEW Double or Nothing the previous month, he was forced to miss the show.
