VINELAND, NJ — Kansas City isn’t the only place celebrating the Chiefs’ recent title. The City of Vineland will honor its hometown star, Isiah Pacheco, with a parade and rally.
Pacheco, nicknamed “Pop,” just won his second Super Bowl in as many seasons with the Chiefs. The city will celebrate the running back with “A Parade for Pop” at 11 a.m. April 20.
The procession in a double-decker bus will begin at 4th Street and Landis Avenue, culminating with a rally at City Hall.
Pacheco competed in Pop Warner Football for the Vineland Blitz before playing quarterback and running back for Vineland High School. After four years at Rutgers University, the Chiefs selected Pacheco in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 251st overall pick.
The South Jersey native led the Chiefs in rushing for each of his two seasons, recording 205 carries for 935 yards and seven touchdowns last year. He also caught 44 passes for 244 yards and two scores.
Pacheco holds the all-time record for scrimmage yards from a rookie running back drafted in the seventh round. He’s also the first running back in NFL history to win two Super Bowls in each of his first two seasons.
Vineland held a similar event for Pacheco after he won his first Super Bowl last year.
