Chris Hemsworth to play Hulk Hogan in Todd Phillips-directed biopic
A Hulk Hogan biopic has started to take shape, and an actor has already been chosen to play the WWE Hall of Famer.
As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday afternoon, Chris Hemsworth will don the iconic red and yellow of The Immortal One, in a project set to be directed by Todd Phillips (“The Hangover” trilogy) and co-written by Academy-Award nominee Scott Silver (“The Fighter”) and John Pollono (“Stronger”). Philips and Silver are currently collaborating on the comic-book villain film “Joker,” set for release later this year.
Details are scant on the Hogan biopic, though The Hollywood Reporter scoop reveals it will focus on his rise to superstardom and his first WWE Championship, which began the Hulkamania phenomenon in earnest. Hogan himself is reportedly attached to the project as a consultant, while Eric Bischoff will be among the producers.
