Cristiano Ronaldo and Novak Djokovic are two of the greatest sportsmen off all time, so when the two got together for a workout it was only natural they would share tips on what got them to the top.
Ronaldo, the Juventus superstar, quite literally explained one of his biggest strengths as he showed off his incredible jumping technique to the tennis legend.
The two men are seen in an empty gym in a video posted on Ronaldo’s Instagram, and have several attempts at running and heading a rope hanging from the ceiling.
Despite failing to match Ronaldo’s aerial prowess, Djokovic’s efforts were enough to impress the former Real Madrid man and the pair shared a laugh and hugged afterwards.
“Teaching @djokernole how to jump! Was a pleasure to see you and train with you my friend,” Ronaldo captioned the clip of him and the 16-time Grand Slam winner.
Earlier this month, Ronaldo defied gravity to score a sensational header to help Juventus earn a 2-1 win over Sampdoria and research afterwards showed he achieved a leap of 8ft 5in.
While many were left in awe at Ronaldo’s header, talkSPORT host Adrian Durham was not and ranted that Lionel Messi’s header in the 2009 Champions League final against Manchester United was better.
Speaking on Drivetime, the host said: “Ronaldo jumped up to head a ball and it went in…
“And all of a sudden it’s gone viral and it’s as if nobody has ever jumped in the air to head a football.”
“His hang-time is unbelievable though,” argued co-host Darren Gough. “Give him credit for that.
“I don’t know how he does it, he just stays up there, like he’s flapping his wings.”
“He is NOT hanging,” Durham replied. “There is no hang time at all!
“He’s jumped up and then he’s hit the ground afterwards! He’s not hanging in the air, they’ve slowed it down!
“He’s a terrific header of the ball but what makes it look even more impressive is the defender doesn’t jump at all and because it’s Cristiano Ronaldo people bang on and on and on and on.
“And I tell you what, there was a better header ten years ago in to the Champions League final – Lionel Messi against Manchester United.”
