DARIEN, CT — Darien and state officials are looking to spruce up the Interstate-95 Exit 11 bridge, according to First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky.
During this week’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Zagrodzky thanked sate Sen. Bob Duff (D-25), who arranged a recent tour of the bridge with CT Department of Transportation staff.
“If you come off Exit 11 like you’re going to turn left to to go into the Corbin District, that bridge is in kind of a shabby state. It’s not clean, there’s a lot of algae on the walls, it needs to be repainted,” Zagrodzky said.
Zagrodzky did not specify a timeline on when work could take place.
“It’ll take sime time to get through the approvals, but I’m actually kind of hopeful that we’ll be able to get that cleaned up. It’ll look sharp when you come into the Corbin Distrct, and particularly for folks who might be moving into Thorndal Circle when that redevelopment takes place, just to have a nice open and well-lit area to come into our beautiful downtown.”
