Hiroshi Tanahashi has offered to replace the injured Will Ospreay in his match against "Speedball" Mike Bailey at next Friday's Impact x NJPW Multiverse United.
After Tuesday's New Japan Cup finals, Tanahashi said he would be a "pinch hitter" for the co-promoted show and that they would regret choosing him as he is going to make an impact.
Neither promotion has made an official announcement about the change, nor that Ospreay has been officially pulled.
Last week, Ospreay had to remove himself from the New Japan Cup tournament due to a shoulder injury that was believed to have been sustained during his second round tournament match against Mark Davis.
His timeframe for returning to action is unknown.
