Chelsea have set their sights on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this January – and they feel confident they can lure the teenager to Stamford Bridge.
Sancho has been linked with a January move to the Premier League, with Manchester Untied and Liverpool also thought to be in the running for his signature.
But it is understood Chelsea, whose transfer ban has been lifted, believe they can win the race to sign the 19-year-old England international next month.
Blues boss Frank Lampard has £150million to spend and the club may have to pay more than £120m for Sancho, with Dortmund keen to cash in on one of Europe’s hottest prospects.
The winger has recorded an impressive nine goals and nine assists in his opening 15 Bundesliga matches this season.
With Willian and Pedro in their early thirties and Callum Hudson-Odoi struggling for form, the Blues have identified Sancho as their No. 1 target.
They are also keen on signing another striker, with Olivier Giroud expected to look for a new club when the winter window opens.
RB Leipzig’s star man Timo Werner has been linked with Chelsea, but it is thought the German club are unlikely to let him go midway through the season.
The 23-year-old Germany international has been immense in the Bundesliga this campaign, scoring 18 goals in 16 games and guiding Leipzig to the top of league.
