Jim Ross recently spoke with Tulsa World to promote his new book.
During the interview, the WWE Hall Of Famer spoke about feeling like he didn’t want to finish his book when his longtime wife, Jan, who helped him with the project from the start, tragically passed away.
“I was thinking about not finishing the book,” said Ross. He then recalled a story he learned from his coach in high school about how quitting is always the easy way out, which helped him find the strength to finish the book.
“It just popped in my head,” said Ross of the story from his childhood. “So I finished the book, and I’m sure as hell glad we did because, not only is it selling well, but people are seeing it’s not a wrestling book. Nowhere in the book do I talk about my 10 favorite wrestlers. It’s a story about me going from the farm in Westville to the Garden in New York City. It’s that kind of journey.”
“Good Ole’ J.R.” is scheduled to appear the Tulsa Barnes & Noble store on 8620 E. 71st St. to sign copies of his new book, Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling” at 4pm on Sunday, November 26th.
