John Cena has landed a role in the adaptation of the Dr. Dolittle film.
Robert Downey Jr., who will be playing the lead role in the movie, announced the cast via Instagram recently. Cena will be playing the voice of Yoshi, a polar bear.
Other names announced for the film include Selena Gomez, Emma Thompson, Octavia Spencer, Ralph Fiennes, Tom Holland and Kumail Nanjiani.
The movie is scheduled to be released on April 12, 2019 and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
Cena is also attached to a new film based on the Duke Nukem video game character from the 1990s. He spoke with the folks at ScreenRant.com about possibly playing the Duke Nukem role, noting that the movie has to have the right story for him to be interested.

“It has to come in told correct, told in a palatable sense for this generation, which you’re walking on eggshells … you can’t not be Duke Nukem, but you can’t make the wrong move,” said Cena. “So I’m…what a blessing to be attached to that, a name like that, and I just hope development does the franchise justice.”
