From one mode of transport to another: Marseille have named logistics company CMA CGM as main club and shirt sponsors next season, following the breakdown of Cazoo’s long term deal with the club.
OM announced on Wednesday in a press release that it was ending its partnership with Cazoo, its main sponsor, which was also displayed on the shirts of the Phocéens. It is now confirmed that the Marseille-based shipping company CMA CGM, number three in the world for sea freight, will take over and will be displayed on OM’s shirts from July 2023 for two seasons.
Cazoo pulled out of their two-year deal with Marseille in a wider move to pull out of European markets following financial difficulties for the Britain-based car retailer. Cazoo also sponsored Lille this season, but again Les Dogues will also have to find a new sponsor, after cutting short a long term deal which has reportedly also had financial implications on both Ligue 1 clubs.
