TEMECULA, CA—Smart & Final Extra! has been preparing to open for months and has now announced its grand opening date of April 24 in Temecula. More information on the grand opening will be released in advance of that date.
The store has opened on the site of the former Best Buy electronics store on Temecula Parkway, totally retrofitting the vast 30,000-square-foot storefront into a grocery and household items store. Hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at the latest location at 32937 Temecula Parkway in Temecula.
Guests who attend the grand opening will receive branded tote bags and the chance to win a store gift card. According to a spokesperson for Smart & Final Extra! during the grand opening, they will donate $5,000 to two local charities, Jacob’s House and Green Acres Ranch Interactive Therapy.
Smart & Final Extra! joins a scattering of other grocery stores along the major south Temecula thruway, including Stater Bros., Albertson’s, the recently opened Aldi’s, Walmart Super Center, and Ralph’s. The store has hired 50 associates in Temecula, Patch was told by a spokesperson for the retailer.
When you go, look for the organic offerings of Shu Harvest and First Street meats and cheeses, and there is also an expansive deli. Many products are available in club-sized and traditional packaging.
Store manager Zulma Hernandez spoke with Progressive Grocer about the opening and what’s in store for local shoppers, which is different from the other grocery stores along Temecula Parkway.
“We’re thrilled to finally serve the Temecula Valley Community with the very best Smart & Final has to offer, and we can’t wait to welcome customers to our new store,” Hernandez wrote. “Whether you’re a budget-friendly shopper or restocking your local business, we have everything you need to help save our customers time and money.”
