Tony Cascarino has heaped praise on Gerard Deulofeu following Watford’s defeat to Premier League leaders Liverpool.
The Hornets were consigned to their tenth league defeat of the season with a brace from Mohamed Salah sealing the 2-0 win for the Reds.
It means Watford are six points off safety but they can take a lot of credit for their performance as they caused Liverpool a lot of problems.
Deulofeu forced Alisson Becker into a smart save before setting Ismailia Sarr up for a golden chance but the Senegal international totally fluffed his lines.

And Liverpool fan Cascarino suggested his team should be looking at Deulofeu, claiming the Spaniard would fit ‘perfectly’ into Jurgen Klopp’s system.
However, Casc also said that Deulofeu would probably be more of a squad player at Anfield.
Casc said on Weekend Sports Breakfast: “Deulofeu caused Liverpool a lot of problems.
“He runs in behind, always wants to take players on and he’s very good at it.
“I could see him in the Liverpool team. We talk about players who Liverpool might look for further down the line.
“I know he’s been at Barcelona and Everton but he’s that type of player and would fit perfectly into their [Liverpool’s] system.
“He probably wouldn’t make the starting line-up but like [Xherdan] Shaqiri, he could come in and do a fabulous job because he really hurts you.”
This was new Watford manager Nigel Pearson’s first game officially in charge of the club.
And Pearson took encouragement from his players’ performance despite leaving Merseyside empty-handed.
He said: “What we have to do, all of us as staff, is to work with the players to help them find the belief themselves, we can’t give them that.
“We hopefully help facilitate that and give them the framework to do that but ultimately players have to go out on the field and play and they played with a lot of conviction (at Anfield).
“It’s absolutely required for us to find a way of getting out of the situation we are in – and it is do-able. We are capable but we have to start making it happen.”
